Getting Ready for Digital Television

Are you ready for the switchover to digital television? Between 2010 and 2013, existing analog television broadcasting will be phased out. By the end of 2013 our television services will be entirely digital.

So what is Digital TV and why do you need to know about it?
Digital television simply refers to the way that television signals are broadcast from television stations to a television set. It is the signal type that is replacing analog. Currently, analog and digital broadcasts are still transmitting side-by-side. Switching off analog will free a lot of broadcast capacity that can then be used to develop expanded television services, and a wide range of exciting new channels.

There are a lot of other exciting benefits with Digital TV. You can expect better signal quality, widescreen viewing and vastly improved pictures and sound. Digital TV will be a new experience in television home entertainment.

What do you need to be ready for Digital TV?
Upgrading and preparing for digital is simple and cost-effective. With a DGTEC high definition (HD) set top box or personal video recorder, your existing analog television set can be digital ready immediately. A set top box is a device that connects to your analog television and enables it to receive digital signals.
